HOME REMODELING TRENDS FOR 2021

HOME REMODELING TRENDS FOR 2021

After all that we have had in the previous year- it is of no surprise that home redesigning trends for 2021 focuses on comfort. Home decor trends for 2021 are all about creating a comfortable home for you in what so ever situation it may be. Let us look at six home redesigning trends for this year.

1) JAPANDI

When it comes to home design, Japan and Scandinavia have a lot in common. They are a lot more alike than you may contemplate. Both their aesthetics focuses on. Although a relatively new trend, it is highly expected to see Japandi pop up on our Instagram feeds this year. Japandi design combines Scandinavian functionality, and Japanese rustic minimalism is expected to create a feeling of art, nature, and simplicity. This fusion creates the perfect blend of function and form, focusing on clean lines, bright spaces, and light colors. The perfect fusion of Japanese and Scandinavian, Japandi, focuses on simplistic, minimalistic, aesthetically pleasing designs but is rooted in function.

2) Earth tones, including beige, brown, burnt umber, and terracotta, will continue their popularity streak this year too. A trend that came up, again and again, earth-tone, was a renewed interest in shades of brown. Warm taupes, beiges, sands—basically any earth tone is surging in popularity. Consider swapping in a warm beige or greige for bright white this new year.

3) Oversized Tiles

Let us skip the teeny-tiny tiles with the impossible-to-clean grout lines in favor of larger-scale tiles in the bathroom. Fewer grout lines mean less cleaning and less visual clutter. Plus, the large-format tile can help visually expand a small space. Hence this new trend will be the spark of the year.

4)Low-Waste Living

Consumers are more focused on reducing their environmental impact in 2021 regarding food and waste, but the demand for sustainable furnishings has gradually increased. We might finally move away from the fast-fashion home furnishing industry and into an age of more thoughtful consumption—one focused on second-hand finds, investment pieces, and manufacturers with transparent and sustainable practices.

5)More Plants

We bet 2021 brings even more plants into our homes. Not only do plants bring life to any room, but they’re something to nurture and care for—something to focus on instead of the uncertainty of the outside world. So brace yourselves as the plant walls and corners and windows are here to stay this year.

6) Green solutions

It’s important not to discount the return to green drives. There are soon to be many new renovation loans focused on green energy, and the ability to incorporate renovation work into the renovation of your home’s energy system makes sense. Whether it’s adding larger systems like solar power or rainwater harvesting to existing homes or simple incentives for property landlords to try insulation and HVAC upgrades. This new initiative will bring a boon of work for both the commercial and residential remodeling industries. We have already seen an increase in the predominance of these types of additions and upgrades. With potential new green remodeling incentives, we would expect this trend to continue well into 2021 and beyond.
